hey guys, had to change my engine and i got a newer 1UZ and the dipstick actually runs through the block into the sump and the old one runs down the side of the engine. so the problem is that i have to change sumps over but what to do because the sumps have their own dipstick set up! so i'll either have two dipsticks or some how block up one of the holes. I NEED HELP!!

The engine with the dipstick through the block is a 1989-90 Crown UZS131 motor with a mid sump.

When you swap the sumps over reuse the old dipstick AND tube.

You can either pull the short tube out of the head and block it off, or you can just block it off and leave it there.

I'd suggest discarding the dipstick that goes with the new motor now before you get them confused.

thanks. I'm getting a mechanic to put a ball bearing into where the dipstick currently runs and making the same as my old set up so the reading from the sump is the same as always. cheers
