HOnestly mate, as nice a package as it is, you wouldnt fetch more than $14k due to the majorly cheap market out there! As alot before have found, make more money parting the car out ( as bad as it sounds ). Or you just have to be persistent with the sale and hope the " right " buyer comes along! Which would be the case with bodykit and such!

thanks Daniel. I knew when i started getting it built up that i'd never get the money back that has been spent, at the time it didn't bother me tho because i had plans to keep the car for years yet. I'll probably still keep it and just keep slowly replacing bits and seals till it just operates beautifully and i'm fully happy with it. They ARE a very nice car

Thanks Mike. Guys what's the better fuel pump, Walbro 255 or bosch 040? i've heard the bosch is quiter but a little more expensive

From my reading, the Bosch is the better pump. I have been in cars with the walbros and the bosch and the bosch seems quieter and a more constant noise (less noticeable). It is only a little bit more than the Walbro. The walbro might be a bit easier to install and will probably pick fuel better when the tank is very empty because it's more like the factory pump. Basically, both seem to work fine... 50/50

thanks Tai. so basically i have to figure out if i want a quieter one or an easier to install one that could possibly pick up the fuel better near empty

Guy, Need help. what tolerances and tensions do i need to look for when replacing this piston?!?! And just how would you guys go about re assembling the engine?! like the process and tools used, like for example the cleaning up of the block and head for the new gaskets

Guys i've got my heads off and was wondering if it's a good idea to put performance valve springs in? Is it a long difficult process? Should i just take the heads, springs and seals to a professional re-conditioner and just pay for it to be done? Thanks.

If you havent done it before mate, i would recommend paying to get it done! You wouldnt want to have to go through all of this again if something goes bad...

yeah that's what i was thinking. i had a look at my heads and it just looks to me that if i do it myself it'll take a fair while to do. But i could easily just clean them up and whack them back on and they'd be fine, just wondering if while they're off i should do this spring upgrade as well.

At the very least you should have the heads checked for flatness and skimmed if needed before putting them back on. Check your shim clearances and if its too far out it might be worth the work.

Sorry mate, not sure if I mentioned in that email I sent you - definitely get the heads machined, skimmed or whatever you want to call it. I got valve float starting at 15 psi due to the very soft springs. So if you're planning on going to about that, i'd do them. While you're getting the heads machined, get the guys to check out the heads. ANY work that you do here that MAY need to be done will be so much easier for a mechanic to do now rather that when the car's together again, and will save you

yeah i was going to get the harder springs from lextreme. stops the valve float and lets it wind out further. not going to 15psi just yet but i have talked about it with Neil.

Yeah that will keep it legal, or block them off and vent crank case (both rocker covers) to air via oil catch can (which you have).

Yeah, block off the hole under the throttle body, block off the one on the intake plenum, and run them off to a catch, then back to the pre-SC intake, or get some oil breathers (kinda illegal, but make it look legit and you'll be right) And if you still have the coolant line heating up the throttle body, bypass it It was a pain for me to remove....

| well i have that one running to a catch can at the moment then back into the hole under the throttle body. the intake plenum one you're talking about i don't think i have with my supercharger type Tai, there is a line on the back of the charger that runs into the throttle body as well tho. i've done this quick diagram to show you just what i mean. let me know if it's right or what i could change to make it better

Well Guys i Have a full set of Ross Forged pistons on the way and an ACL Performance Bearing kit as well. coming from Lextreme. Was a bit of extra money when i probably could have gotten away with using a piston out of my old engine but i thought i'd do it right. It's already apart and out of the car so i might as well do it. combined with the cometic head gaskets and ARP head studs it should hopefully be the last of my engine problems! (touch wood)

| Pistons and bearings arrived. Pistons were balanced and i was supplied with a break down sheet showing info on each piston. Very happy with David from Lextreme, he really came through. Great communication and he took care of postage and just did alot of things he didn't need to do to make me a very happy customer. Picture showing a few of the items purchased.
