Do you have an LSD yet?
If not, get one.
The widest tyres you can fit on those mags will do less than an LSD with your current tyres.

If you already have the LSD, then get tyres :-)

yeah i have a Torsen type 2 LSD.

The tyres i have on now are pretty well bald so i can spin them just flicking the accelerator.

getting a set of nexen N3000's for $249 per tyre fitted. Tyre fella thinks they'll give me alot better traction. we'll See!

They'll most likely be a huge improvement over what you have now, but obviously not as good as something that ranges in the $400 per tyre mark.

For the price I'd probably go with the Nexen's though, and if they aren't up to par then its skids time and get something better !

FOr that price it wont hurt to find out.. My mate is running the Khuno's on his R33GTR and they are almost as good as the Falken Azenis ST215's.. Not much difference at all he reckons... SO Bang for buck, that aint half bad!

Check the breathers, they could be blocked.

Excessive sump pressure can do crazy things.

pcv is clear. breather on the other cover goes into an oil catch can then back into the intake.

I have an oil leak between the head and block, i know cause i can feel it coming from there out the side, smoke, lots of it, coming out the exhaust and it's burning a little bit, not an excessive amount but still enough to show up on the dipstick.

yeah most definitely!

Will a thicker gasket for lower compression give me any improvement?

I've been told by a couple of people now to lower compression and told by some not to. and i have one person who's advice on the car i take pretty strongly saying not to.

Judging by the amount of people running boost with the original head gaskets I'd be trying to work out first why yours blew.

How much boost are you running?
What supercharger?
How much ignition advance at high rpms?
How much extra fuel?
What are your intake temps like?

You've no doubt answered a lot of these in the previous pages, but a quick summary will help.

I doubt its the compression.. I would say it has ALOT to do with intake temps and detonation.. Just look at Neils car! 385rwhp with the twin screw and 315rwhp with the EatonM90. It all comes down to the tune and the fuel used in my opinion.

Guys this head gasket was never changed out. Could possibly be an original head gasket and then to get 10pound stuck down it's throat.

It was tuned and set up by a guy that Neil got me onto. i have the YT1500 supercharger. intake temp is taken care of with a water/methanol injection kit and it's getting plenty of fuel and has good plugs from Neil. The person who i've talked to about pretty much any change or any planned changes on this car has been Neil.

It isn't even an aggressive tune. Jason said he thinks he could pull another 30 to 40 RwKw's out of it yet but safer is better.

I honestly think that the old gasket just couldn't take it any longer.

Good luck actually getting the Cometic Gaskets. No supplier (even Lextreme's) had any as of two weeks ago, and nobody knew when they were going to manufacture a new batch. Im back to using toyota gaskets in mine now

The closest thing to a tutorial is on Lextreme under 'changing out the cams'. If you follow this, all that needs to be done after that is to undo the heads, exhaust power steer pump etc..

Get ARP studs too, as you can't re-use the std ones again. Also, I was told that the Toyota ones needed to get shipped from Japan, and were not much cheaper anyway

Hey guys,

got cosmetic gaskets and ARP head studs ordered and on there way in about 2 to 3 weeks.

Just a quick question, How much do you think people would pay for this soarer? fixed of course. (some money issues at the moment)

Upload

got 10 PSI
1.5 shift kit
type 2 LSD
LS400 front brakes
almost brand new tyres
new transmission and engine mounts
engine oil cooler
big transmission cooler
2,800 Rpm torque converter (all transmission work done by MV automatics)
Water/Methanol injection
new head lights and late model tail lights
sun roof
body kit
17" mags
clear indicators
Custom made black floor mats (4)
full pioneer sound system (headunit, all speakers, Subwoofer, Amp)
custom centre console surround
soon to have new cosmetic head gaskets and ARP head studs
probably some other little things but that's enough listed.
(the head unit installation)

Upload

(custom surround, before head unit was installed)

Upload

Remember almost all the new modifications are practically brand new, done 1,600 Kms since work was finished.
