dont forget you still need the following to set it up properly
1. fuel system i.e pump and injectors $1000 installed
2. after market ecu minimum $2000 installed.
3. shift kit and stall converter $1000 installed.
4. exhaust system $2000 installed
5. all the little extras that no one thinks about. clamps, hoses, oil catch cans, seals etc. $500 at minimum
and thats to get a mild setup with about 220rwkws. and thats if you do it correct the first time and you experience no problems. Then you will have the inevitable problem of always wanting more and therefore spending more. I dont think there is a single person on this forum that can honestly say that they bought a standard v8 soarer and spent only $6000 only to supercharge it.

He asked for a supercharger, not a specific rwkw. Therefore, he needs little or nothing of what you said, at any price. How does a shift kit improve rwkw? Apart from which, spending $2,000 on a new and sufficient exhaust proves only that you are a crap buyer.

David i mentioned the shift kit as a safety for the auto, the importance of which has been mentioned numerous times on this forum
In regards to exhaust systems by the time you buy the extractors ($660), a set of cats (at least $200 each) the add an x pipe, mufflers and possibly hotdogs and installation i think $2000 is pretty close (assuming you have no friends in the industry).
any way the reason why i mentioned all this is just to give shadi a heads up on what to expect. realisticly though a v8 with exhaust and a bfi can make 140-150 rwkws. installing a supercharger on its own would probably only produce about 170-180rwkws. As andrew said, to make it worth while other mods are needed. thats my opinion anyway

Well, funnily enough, they can be happy with the result. Had Gianni said, "Consider that if you are spending that much then you are likely also to want these." it would have been good information to someone who, from their initial post, had not done much research or else they would already have known the cost anyway. Instead, they sound like necessities to the uninitiated but are necessary only to maximise performance, whereas a supercharger with no more than a cheap BFI will make a huge difference to mid-range torque and still boost power 25+%. Other changes may make sense in context but they remain optional, especially on a street car and especially given the specific question.
fair enough david i see your point. But i mention that the list is required to "properly" set up a supercharger i.e get the maximum out of it. Anyway all these items dont all need to be done in one hit. They are just a wish list for people with superchargers

I think if Shadi wants to get started get a good kit and there are a few around now , use a good second hand M90 and fit extractors and exhaust .I found a good M90 off e-bay out of the USA and cost me $450 to the door . I know what your saying Gianni about doing it right the first time but there will be nothing wrong with the set up if he keeps the boost down and then if he wants to get more out of it go to a Whipple and start spending some money on the parts your talk about , I would say your right with the shift kit , I think that's one thing you need if running the Supercharger or not . I was running 5.5psi with all stock parts apart from exhaust and made 174rwkws . This was on my UZZ32 so there go's about 15Kw to drive that dam pump from what Peter Scott worked out .
