hey guys,

I've run my new engine in and everything runs really really good except when i put my foot flat the car dies in power then comes good. if i slowly increase the power rather then just flatten it its fine.

only thing changed since last install is the much bigger fuel pump. hasn't been tuned with that pump in yet.

so is it possible that it's getting way too much fuel and that's causing it to get flooded?

i talked to a guy who tunes cars and he seems to think it's surging due to it being tuned with the smaller fuel pump and not this big one.

any help would be great guys. thanks.

Hey Guys,

now she's been safe tuned and drives really well.

Made 300 RwHp with 8psi and no cooling. which is alright when you think a 5.7litre Commodore makes close to that and she's only 4litre. but more is needed

Water/methanol is unplugged for now till i'm happy it's all run in and nothing is wrong.

Here's the latest pic with any new gear.

4.0L + 8psi ~= 6.2L, which is why its similar to the Commodore!

Congrats on getting it running. Is it just a wee M90?

PLEASE relocate your airtemp sensor to be AFTER the supercharger if you intend on keeping the water injection turned off.

I wouldn't be turning on the water meth with the nozzle located there...

Do some research and or check with the water meth kit manufacture.

I don't see the problem with it, or am I missing something?

Pre throttle body / pre blower is where Snow Performance recommends their injectors be fitted for positive displacement applications.

As far as de-laminating the teflon coating, I don't think it is an issue as long as the lobes are in good order, the misting nozzle is not too close to the rotors and 100% meth is not used.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cheers.

yeah nathan i installed it straight out of the snow performance manual that came with the kit.

i figure most of the mist gets burnt up in the charger and not the engine anyways lol. pretty hot in that little thing running that boost.

I've got the smallest mister in it as well as its more of a safety thing rather then advancing timing and tuning it harder. i don't want to HAVE to have it going all the time.

The Snow Performance kit is what Ill run with I think when I try to get 18psi out of the HTV1900. Don't know when that will be though, need to get the 32 on the road first I guess.

Did you have any before and after dyno numbers with the water injection? How have you set the injection to turn on? Boost only, or have you got other inputs as well, like fuel injector duty cycle?

I have both the boost and the injector setup going but you can only switch to one or the other so i run it off boost.

It turns on 10% at 3.5 psi and 100% at full boost.

Increases its way up by itself.

I have the before number of 300 RwHp and soon i'll get the after when it goes on the dyno again.

Really simple to set up . follow installation manual and you can't go wrong. i'm only running the smallest nozzle as the one up from it is 350 to 600 odd Hp.

Very good.

Who did you purchase your kit through?

Guys the water meth nozzle placed before the rubber ribbed joiner cause larger droplets to form on the ribs which can cause problems. All the major water meth kit suppliers recommend placing the nozzle after such locations or replacing the joiner with a smooth one ie what is used in FMIC type setups.

The three major water meth kit suppliers are Devil's Own, Snow also know and boost cooler and Aquamist.

The Devil's Own kit comes with a adjustable 250psi pump where as the snow kits come with a 150psi pump. Devil's Own kits also have supposedly better nozzle design. Devil uses fantastic quick connect connectors in all locations and Snow uses the same connections in about half of there kit.

Both are very good and readily available.

I don't know much about the Aquamist kits in extreme detail but they are very similar same pumps ect but more expensive.

Nathan you can use your wolf ECU to control the water meth injection which will mean you don't need to buy a kit with a controller which should save you quite a bit of $$$.

thanks Damian. I'll look into a smooth joiner.

Yeah Nathan talk to full throttle performance if you're after the snow performance kit or parts of it. best to phone as they're a bit slack on emailing back.

I was going to control mine with the ecu but i already got the full kit so i just used it.
