Hi guys , Thought it was time to update with the happenings of my new engine . To put it in plain text it didn't go as planned .Had Number 8 Liner completely fail . The carnage was not good and lost pistons ,Block , still not sure about the heads , Oil Pump . Will know more when i feel up to looking at it and starting again .
The feeling of myself and most others is to much piston to bore clearance but Ross Pistons tell me it can't be and looking in the wrong place . What ever caused it makes no difference now and just need to start again . Will not run the same pistons but going back to a 010thou set to keep as much as the bore thickness as i can .

Mario; Was there any marks on the counter balance weight on the crank ...as if the piston has touched it. I know when mine was assembled we on had 10 or 15 thou. So the pistons were machined again to get 40thou. my mate who builds drag motors assembled mine . BUT it has got me thinking about the piston to bore clearance ...I can't remember what he made them

Matt I did the engine apart from the machine work on the block (rebore), been doing engines for a long time , ran a Blown Meth AA/A for years and a Mechanic by trade .
Hi Lew , No I looked for that right away and after you told Paul about it went over it again and again but didn't hit the crank , Only place you can see strange marks are on the bottom of the piston skirts were it looks like they were hitting the bottom of the bore .
Jamie , It was still being run in mate , had 10psi in it , lucky i was only doing 1500rpm when it let go and let go it did in a big way as you can see ...
Neil Griffiths Goo Roo NSW I have a Cadillac and a Supercharged Manual V8

Mario how has this come along, all problems fixed? The Whipple 2.3's are the best SC's going round. Should give you more than enough for the street, especially compared to your previous M90. Would love to hear how the re build went

Hi Jay , Going very slow mate . I dropped the short engine off in July last year , it has now had all the machine work done and is on the engine stand but thats as far as it go's . I am hoping for it to be done in a few weeks but not holding my breath . I have been busy with my other Green 32 and only just finished it and on the road a few days ago . This one i will sell , haven't got the room for two 32's so it must go as soon as my Black 32 is almost done or sooner if someone gives me what i am hoping to get .
