It's been a while since I have done anything to my car, just enjoying driving and flogging it down the 1/4 mile.

Last year I brought a spare motor and decided to pull it apart to see what is like.

Bottom end is perfect, not broke so not going to mess with it.

Heads were stripped and valves lapped, got a set of billet cams from Peter Taplin, and they will be fitted to the motor soon.

Heads were refitted and the motor sealed from the weather.

Have a couple of weeks recovery from an operation, then back to it.

Hopefully, some time in the next month will do the engine swap and get it to the tuners to see if the work was worth it.

Got a lot of new parts to fit as well, also a bigger water meth tank to be finished and fitted.

Update for this update. Motor was eventually fitted and I fitted a big pod filter into the front bar under the had light, seemed to of worked reasonably well, had a few minor issues with the motor but were sorted to a point were they didn't bother me to much. At the drags it was feeling real good best pass was 12.91 at 109mph, was consistently running flat 13's and into the high 12.9's.
I liked the pod were it is, but not good when you get caught in a storm and a flash flood at travelling speed, result is a bent rod that jammed the piston up against the counter weight on the crank shaft, one rooted motor.
Last week end with the help of some friends, motor gets ripped out and the spare one I brought a short while back gets prepped to be fitted, just need to change the harmonic balancer from the old motor to the new one and refit it all next week end, didn't have a puller to do it, so it will wait.

I didn't take it any where to get checked, but The rotors spin freely, no contact and no binding.

just make sure you spin it up with a drill or something, last thing you want is a motor full of blower rotors

Time for an update on this new motor, this weekend I am doing a full timing belt service, all new parts including caps rotors plugs etc, also fitting some billet custom ground cams.

Had some spare cam covers and plug covers hydro dipped colour matched to the car, not sure how they will look when fitted but will find out tomorrow when I finish doing everything.

Drivers side cams are now in and shimmed to suit.
Passenger side ready to be done tomorrow.
