Hi all.
I just got my new M90 today, and have a question about pulley sizes.
I have a 1uz, I had 5psi running through my old setup. The new setup has a much bigger pulley, but is apparently 5psi. I'm guessing the engine capacity would also play a part in boost by pulley size??
My main question is...Can anybody tell me what size pulley in mm or inches would I need to obtain 7psi on a 1uz from M90?? I have looked about and asked heaps, but can't get a solid answer. I'm guessing a pulley of 2.7" would give me about 7 psi. I have a 9psi pulley also, but not running that until ecu has been done. Any answers appreciated! Cheers guys!

There is no such thing as guaranteed psi from pulley size .

Once you open the exhaust the blower creates less boost as the engine is more efficient .

Only real way is to fit and see what boost is .

The reason it could have been different than yours is the crank pulley could be a different size .

Thanks Daniel. Thats what I thought. Just a matter of try and try again until the gauge sits where I want it... I'll start with my old pulley that gave 5psi, and go down from there.....

So in other words once you have a.charger everything you do yo yield more power will just drop your boost and keep engine output the same. I want to do extractors with a charger.

I done headers on mine with M90 and it was worth every cent and bloodied knuckle!! It had no impact on the boost level, but the car performed incredibly better. My guess is that if you have a blower and do a good performance mod and actually notice a drop in boost level, you would simply down size pulleys until your happy again...???

I certainly did! And it was the best gain for $$ yet!! One job I would recommend any 1uz owner! If you put a stock header next to a rush header, you kinda get excited!! It took me a day and a half to put them on.

Are these rush headers designed specifically for boosted 1UZ or were they designed for NA 1UZ ??

Does it make a difference .. I have been thinking about headers but wanted to know if i need something made specifically for boost

Gavin there are generally 2 sizes available but it is only a few mm difference. I have 44 mm Hurricane headers on my V8 while it was n/a and there was also a 42mm version, but i dont think the small size difference would make that much real world difference compared to the asthmatic originals, i just went for the bigger is better approach... As for bang for $$$... It is as Bernie said... You will notice the difference in performance and sound right away... Even with the most basic mechanical ability you could fit these in a weekend, dont pay $800 for an exhaust place to do it... Took me 2 days and im a broken down old man
