Hi guys, i know this isnt the brake thread but i figured id ask here...
Since fitting my supercharger my brakes havent been as good. I know that blown motors are notorious for reduced brake efficiency , so i am curious if anyone has added any vacuum assistance to their cars?
I have seen some electric vacuum pump kits and was wondering how well these work on our cars (if any one has fitted one)
Another option that has been thrown at me is to fit an alternator from a diesel vehicle that has a vacuum pump built onto the backside of it, but my understanding is these need to be plumbed into a pressurised oil from engine feed with a return...
Any advice would be great, thanks...

with Allan on this, unless you have run your vacuum line to the manifold,...vacuum and boost. you wouldn't of done that, would you.

I thought it was a well known fact, same as adding big cams, effects engine vacuum!!! Kits like this

No, my booster vac line runs of right after the throttle body. My brakes was very good before i fitted sc and felt fadded after the instal. I was driving around the last few days with blower bypassed and my brakes felt good again, but when i swapped the belts back to run blower tonight the pedal feels softer again.

sounds weird, fit a vacuum gauge and see what is happening, mine shows 22 Hg at idle and around 18 to 20 for normal driving, plenty of vacuum.

Yeah my vac gauge reads between 15 and 20 during normal driving and about +7 under hard throttle. Does that sound about right?

on a pushrod dinosaur running a 6v71 blower with carbs and cams that have stupid amounts of overlap maybe but on an m90 blown 1uz it will be FINE plumbed up correctly! post some photos of your blower install

Just saw this thread, how did you end up going ?

If it was a case of poor engine vacuum, your brake pedal would actually be getting harder & less travel, not softer as you mention ..

Maybe your cooking your brakes Now ??

What brakes are you running
