Hey I've got an m90 running 5psi putting out a very disappointing 175rwkw. I'm thinking either running a smaller pulley or reshimming the tappets. What do you guys think will net the most power gains. The m90 is a master for heat so not sure about the gains of more boost. No intercooler or water injection. Opinions?

People will say upgrade to a twin screw, HTV1900 etc, but I know you'll be sticking with the M90. Maybe a meth injection kit, and a smaller pulley for a little more boost? Also, un-related but I know the cams in the 1UZ are not that aggressive, maybe if you scored some cams from a wreck and got some place like Kelford to do a re-grind, maybe that might net you a little bit more power?

Upgrade to m112, simple... should use same manifold

My pulley measures just a tad under 2 1/2 inches. Done 196kw at 7psi at our Soarer club dyno day. Played around with a few things since then and it is making a little more boost. Its pushing around 9 psi on boost gauge now.

So standard injectors not possible? Where did you get the pulley from? I think mine is 3.25". Heard its very difficult to get the stock pulley off.

M90 and M112 are NOT interchangeable on the same manifold I have the pulley remover / installer tool if you want to borrow it as long as you replace the consumables and agree to the "you broke it you bought it" policy pulleys for M90 / M112 are GM ecotech 3.8 ones from pulleyboys.com Standard injectors with raised fuel pressure and after-market ecu top out at 215rwkw M90's are too marginal on a 3.8 and too small for a 4.0.

Mine has got little Allen key bolt on the front of the pulley. Is that by chance a quick change pulley? I bought the car with the charger on it already.

Yeah that looks to be the Holden style Yella Terra. My pulley is custom and different to yours. You could try these guys, see if one of their smaller pulleys will line up on your application http://tttperformance.com.au/holdensuperchargedv6vsvy/2

| Scott, your pulley will be a quick change unit, with the pulley a close tolerance fit to the flange, held on by the 4 allen screw bolts, same as mine.

Undo the 4 bolts, remove the belt, remove the pulley.

Other path I'm considering is water/meth injection but I was reading apprantly its bad for the m90 blowers internals. Is this true or not? What kindbof gains are to be expected with or without tuning?

Some of the holden v6 boys make big power with the m 90, perhaps look at some of those for ideas.

Mate of mine with a m90 on a 1uz soarer just got a safe tune for 290rwhp. I believe he has full header back exhaust, upgraded fuel pump and a motec. Tuner reckons E85 would net 30+rwhp

Bullet says they have a pulley for my charger 67mm. Current one is 80mm what's the average boost gain from this. They say about 2psi. I'm running about 5psi on an 80mm now.

That should put you at around 190kw ATW (250+ a bit HP) but the torque difference is the impressive bit.

A machinist took 4mm off the ribs of the pulley today. Should be running a couple more psi. My pulley is the old style that sits over the neck of the blower. So a smaller pulley won't actually fit. (Will rub on the neck of charger). Will be sure to get it tuned. Water injection going in. Hopefully to break into the 200rwkw barrier.

On the dyno today. Made 180rwkw when it went in. Boost was up by roughly 1 psi at around 6 psi. It made 190rwkw without any water injection. Then we turned water injection on. Comes on only at full boost and made 200rwkw. It is not tuned for water so if it fails the car will run fine without it. Gives me a gain of 10rwkw just being there. It actually seems to have balls now. Shifting is brutal and it even sounds a bit different. I done a few little repairs since it was last tuned. I didn't want to tune around water injection in case of pump failure. I bought a second hand kit from josh and I had some trouble with the pump. Josh has been very good about it and is a good seller. Hopefully it holds up and I'm the future more boost will go in.
