Hi. My first post. Firstly I have a 1995 V8 GT-L with the brake warning illuminated (of course in Japanese) and the EMV flicking and failing; particularly in cold weather. Ultra Tune my local service centre at Redcliffe is very good but unable to fix. Secondly my 1997 V8 GT-L has the EMV back light inoperative. It has been to Damian Ware twice now with no fault found. Both have been frustrating and not able to find anyone in Brisbane trustworthy enough to have both repaired. Both vehicle are in very good condition with no other faults. I am a 68 y/o and have had Soarers since 2000. Can anyone help either here in Brisbane or if necessary I can drive to Sydney?

Post a pic of the brake warning, most likely it needs a nitrogen canister recharge As for the EMV contact Mike Beck who is the Soarer Surgeon on Facebook he will reliably fix your problems,he is on here too so may see your post

Hi Peter, i read something on this a while back.
"brake light warning". Turns out there was two things which could have caused it. The first thing was under the brake fluid bottle thing in the engine bay, there is a sensor. It needs a clean.
The second thing that causes the brake light warning (aside from low fluid in the thing), is that you may have the wrong rear tail lights installed, and no "electrical box relay" thing, whatever it's called, installed. Apparently series 1 and 2 soarer tail lights fit perfectly and work fine, but series 3 tail lights require a relay or whatever it's called otherwise you get a warning always on.
With the EMV flickering, i've seen this a bit through the years and it usually turns out that there is a bad earth or fuse. Sometimes it can be bad capacitors but usually in the EMV I think it's just a bad contact. The screen will flicker on and off for a month or two then will go totally white for a while and not display air con, and then will go black and stay off forever.

if the emv has wavy lines on the screen, it is caps in the EMV that need replacing. Lines go away as it warms up. Brake warning can be caused by power steering fluid leaking onto the alternator. If it has Traction control, could be as John above states.
Are you saying that when Damien bench runs the emv it works? No backlight is generally 2 transistors and a film cap need replacing in the EMV.
