I'd like to supercharge my soarer, but $6K is out of my budget for the next few years..
Just wondering what is involved in Doing It Yourself..
What comes in the kit available??
I have seen M90's with low k's going for $5-800 and i think i could work something out for the intake plenum by butchering one from a wreckers.. Maybe..
What else is there? The long nose pulley assy? idler pulley, longer serpentine, mating up with original throttle body... Piggyback for ECU?
Surely this can be done for well under 6 thou and with not too much effort as an ongoing project while the car is still on the road...

For some reason the origional post was deleted....it had alot of info in it...smart move mods on that site! http://lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5627 But, the company was offering a super charger kit. Basicly everything (but the s/c itself) you need to get s/c'ed for around $2500 if i remember correctly. plenum (made to fit any s/c you get your hans on) belt ect ect. At the end of the day i calculated it was going to cost mid 3's to get the full setup.
Put a post up and try to get the info back? I dont see whey they blooody deleted it all?

Just before that post was deleted from Lextreme, I contacted them - Richwood Technologies in QLD. Will post their details when I get back to my home PC. They emailed me back straight away and were quite helpful. Their pricing makes it very attractive. They can also supply 2nd hand and reco twin screw units to go with the kit. As Steven mentioned, the complete kit less super charger was around $2500 Steven, I was also pissed that they canned the post. It was very informative and answered a lot of questions I had re: super charging my V8.

Yep, had alot of good info. Stupid idea to delete it. Maybe they should have kept the relevant posts and moved them to the forced induction forum? Now theres an idea!

Thanks for the info guys..
Luke, those details would be great.. 3 thousand is heaps better than 6.. But i still can't see where the bulk of the $2500 is coming from.. Is it the fabrication of the intake plenum?
PS, I have searched for the the juzza turbo 2000 and can't seem to find anything apart from some project donation idea :/

I'm working on blowing my UZZ31 now too... it's been sorta fun and sorta not to Google(tm) for info, but for sure it's been very pleasant to talk to so many nice people around the world who love these cars! the enthusiast support is amazing!
anyway, i think the following list of items covers the supercharging process. final products can vary, but the main thing is to cover all the topics. I hope someone can help me to fill in the missing parts! -----
Supercharger type (twin screw vs roots vs centrifugal)
Manifold
Bypass and throttle body - single or double, remote or built in, vacuum or electrical, etc.
Intercooling (if used) - in between blower exhaust and engine intake
Water injection (alternative/supplement to intercooling)
Electronics (piggyback for low boost, standalone for high boost) - To my understanding, the difference is whether you can achieve your tuning parameters by simply hijacking and modifying the stock signal (Piggyback method) or if you need to take full control of timing (standalone method). Standalones also offer gizmos like ignition, traction control, knock control, launch control, fancy graphs, etc.
Ignition - at high PSI, you need a good spark. this includes different spark plugs, spark plug cables, coils, etc. Some of this can be handled by an ECU add-on, alternatively a dedicated ignition setup.
Fuel system - bigger injectors, a swanky rising rate fuel regulator, more/bigger fuel pumps, or a fuel pump voltage booster
Actual fuel - use higher octane
Oil catch can - seen this mentioned in some places as a way to keep the inside of your blower clean
Intake - BFI and other ways to get more air to the blower
Exhaust - more flow in means more flow out - magic Rush extractors in order?

OK.. I contacted Andrew Mueller at Richwood Technology this afternoon and he got back to me almost straight away. He is keen to provide all the info and pricing for the members of Soarer Central. You can contact him at richwoodtechnologies@bigpond.com He is very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Tai, the $2500 price covers everything but the supercharger ie: cast manifold, belt, pulleys, cast elbow for throttle body, etc, etc....

The initial Group Purchase was confusing so deleted. The new thread is the official one. Richwood Technologies is one of our sponsors and they give huge discount to our members. I think this is the best time to jump in for a manifold. Richwood is the manufracture of the manifold. All others are just re-sellers.
4) Shift kit? I would like firmer changes but not too harsh while cruising.. Still not sure tho as i have seen a few posts with people having problems..
Am I missing anything? By my highly precise calculations, the total for all of the above should come in at around $6000 without the dyno runs..
I'm not sure if i will bother with the brake upgrades.. I don't race or drive stupidly.. I just plod along 99% of the time and would like to spend the other 1% of the time grinning ear to ear like i do when i'm on my bike :D
Thanks for all the info guys.. This forum is awesome, full of information and nice people.

Tai, i contacted Andrew and he said the kit price for Planet soarer members was $2595.00, do you think a group buy would do better than that? Cheers John

All of you who go the Supercharger route with the Soarer V8's, please upgrade your brakes, as it's that 1% that will kill you, or someone else.
TT brakes upgrade: Brakes and rotors often available in the For Sale section. Cost: depends on when and where. I got a set for $250 but I think that was very cheap. I don't think you will have a problem with fitting them in. They're not much bigger than the V8 ones.
Celsior brakes: Usually around $500 for a set (fronts only). Then you will have to spend $350-400 on the rotors and maybe something on the pads. You will also have to make sure there is a 65mm clearance between the rotors and your wheels.
Put and add in the Wanted To Buy section and see what pops up.

Tai, contact a few wreckers re TT brakes. I got some for someone front Zoom wreckers and I think the prices were $77 for a caliper and $55 for a rotor.
