Hey guys!
Can anyone suggest a good Brisbane mechanic.. I've been using toyota for some general work/servicing (or lack there of..)...
Last time I had it in I ended up getting it compression test while they were doing gaskets.. Lets just say the results were rather shocking on a few cyl's..
This was awhile ago but until just recently I didn't notice any problems! Now its running rough as guts seems to be misfiring and all sorts!
So I'm guessing its rebuild time... pitty i was going to try sell it in 6months...
So I'm putting a call out for recommend Brisbane Mechanics???? Also any ideas on what i should expect to be paying for the task.. it's an SC300.

The world is your oyster mate! You have a chance to either go for a Twin Turbo, a V8 or a very low KM naturally aspirated 2jz for very little money. Only rebuild if you want to build an 800HP monster.

Well lets just say I'm EXTREMELY dubious about the 110 000 klms that are on the ODO... Since having purchased the car I've had a few of things needing replacement which I wouldn't have thought would be common for a car with this number of Klms! I suspect it was wound back by someone... but maybe you guys can tell me what you think! ;)
From those I remember... Front discs have been replaced... Rear discs need replacing, they're below spec (shhh!)... Rear shocks need replacing and squeak like hell Radiator top tank had a nasty crack that progressively got worse until it couldn't hold pressure and was repaired, and a couple hoses here and there but at 12 years old some of that's acceptable... But the discs?! It had soft pad when I got it and I'm still using soft ones.. come on!? Hehe
Still not sure what to do yet, I'm looking at buying a new Lexus or maybe even a 350Z... One of my mate seems to think a car yard will take the car as a trade in regardless and that I'd probably end up paying more trying to fix it to get a better trade in.... problem is I need it to last me about 6 months before all this happens!
I use to like this engine when I had my Supra... now it upsets me Hahaha

My advice mate, take it down to Lew at Marlew Performance on the Gold Coast and get him to take a look at it. I think he even had a 1JZ engine for sale (that was a while back, so he might have sold it already).
