Hey guys and Gals

Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem,

just got my soarer GT V8 and some weird noises are coming from it. it is hard to explain but i will try my best, when i am taking off from the lights i can hear a machinical noise like a motor is trying to pull something (not the car motor). Also when i am turning corners you can hear the same noise.

Does anyone know what this could be, i am hoping it could be the powersteering pump

Thanks

Anthony

Power steering pump is a grinding noise when you turn corners. You may need to either top up the fluid or get the pump replaced.

It could also be the TRC brake booster if you've got traction control. It has been known to be a bit of a noisy bugger once in a while.

It's the cylinder with the yellow stickers.
If your engine bay does not have that cylinder then you haven't got traction control.

I thought that booster was just for the ABS, TRC only cut the engine power to slow the wheels?
By the way has anyone had success in o/hauling those units?

TRAC also applies brakes, hence the electic brake booster.

ABS only reduces braking so has no need to use the booster. Many ABS Soarers have the normal vacuum booster.

Traction controls systems are generally selective about applying the brakes or simply cutting engine power, dependent largely on speed at which you are travelling.

Well you had better do something about that because it will leak out all over your alternator and kill it. More $$$$ !!
