hey guys ive just bought my soarer last week and apart from a new diff that i need to put into it, i have found that sometimes after driving it when i stop, put it in park, handbrake on i cant turn the key all the way to the left to get it out, after the turbo timer has switched the engine off i have to turn the car back on again reverse 2 metres then go forward and hope that the key releases when i go to turn it off, this is really starting to annoyu me, has anyone had this problem before??? sorry im a newbie and i couldnt find any topics about it.

Yeah it used to happen in my car all the time.
I just had to give the shifter a decent knock forward, to locate it into PARK properly each time.

I just generally find it's due to the steering wheel position.

It could be a faulty switch near the gear stick, the one that changes the gear display on your dash, have a look if the dash says P next time it is stuck... there were a few threads about this stuff in the past from memory...

Same problem happened to me as the other guys have said push the shifter all the way forward and it should fix it. If not the key barrel could be sticking. Look for this as it has also happened to me.

try this aswell mate, take the shifter OFF, (undo the 2 screws etc) slide it off, put it back, making sure the shifter is FULLY down, screw ti back..mine was a few MM's off and caused this exact problem!
