I had same problem and to fix I had to redo the 3 Grub Screws on the shifter till I found the correct adjustment. Now all is good and looks great too!

thats exactly what happend to mine about a month ago
when she finally let go of the keys i sprayed a LITTLE bit of wd40 and it has never happend again

Glad you got it sorted..

Here is a little tip. I always carry one of the Allen keys in the car to tighten up the screws as I had mine come loose once due to being a little heavy handed. You might want to have one at hand in case the same happens while your out.
