How do you clean the fuel tank of all the residue that may be at the bottom of the tank?

Is it possible, and how hard?

i recon either taking the whole thing out or just taking the back seat out, open up the tank and stick your hand in there when yu have an empty tank and try that way.

I'll try that fuelset idea. Reason I ask is I put in fuel one time and there has been problems with the fuel delivery ever since. Changing the fuel filter today, so see how it goes.

There is another filter on the bottom of the fuel pump inside the tank, too.

When I cleaned my tank sensor, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the tank looked inside. Not that I could see a lot through the opening, but still.

Use a match, Pete. It'll help you see in the dark.

Been thinking, The fuel would get rid of the residue itself as it is fuel and cleans away most dirt and grime.

It will only get rid of whatever can get sucked through the filter, through the fuel pump and into the car's fuel system.

Peter, I heard if you cant see inside the tank, striking a match will help :p

I have a look in my tank when I was changing filters, got the good old Energizer hard case torch out, and the tank was nice and clean inside.

You could see a small bit of dust at the bottom, but nothing to be worried about compared to some seriously nasty tanks I have seen, with leaves, twigs, dirty about 2 inches thick, etc.
