Oh and Neil, I called up a couple of the warehouses that supply all the windshield shops around here and their answer is always we don't even have that car in the system and they don't know what to do with the part number.

Another question for any of those mechanic guru's we have or any panel beaters that would know. On the passenger side of the car under the wiper cowl there is a plate that is welded to the firewall that seems to cover the air intake for the heater.
What i need to know is if this plate is structural or just covering because i would like to cut it but i don't want to just go ahead and do that if it's structural and mess up my car.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. I can post a pic of the area in question if needed.

Yeah i just thought that the welding was a bit heavy for it to just be a cover that was all. Seemed to be quite hefty and i want to make sure that i don't run into liability issues with my insurance.

Probably just a well engineered cover to suit the rest of the car

Well the newest update is that i'm likely going to be fitting a Mercedes uni-wiper to the soarer. Seems to be a better option than hacking the lovely lady up.
