Yeah that would be good, You won't need the bed as you'll be otherwise occupied as Aaron just was with a doctor 'checking your temperature'.

Oh and Neil, I called up a couple of the warehouses that supply all the windshield shops around here and their answer is always we don't even have that car in the system and they don't know what to do with the part number.

I think the only way to get a genuine Soarer screen is via your nearest friendly (hopefully!) Toyota parts department.

Might be worth the ask just to see what sorta moolah they'd be asking for one

Tried that already Baggs, Was pretty much told to go screw meself. Toyota Canada does not support Foreign Imported Toyotas.

Yeah to me it seems like a strange situation. If a car has your badge on it you would assume that they would stand behind it.

Toyota NZ seem to be very import friendly. I think they realise they get a good parts and service trade out of them.

Maybe in time they'll change their tune a bit but for now i'm pretty sure any import owners have to fend for themselves.

Another question for any of those mechanic guru's we have or any panel beaters that would know. On the passenger side of the car under the wiper cowl there is a plate that is welded to the firewall that seems to cover the air intake for the heater.

What i need to know is if this plate is structural or just covering because i would like to cut it but i don't want to just go ahead and do that if it's structural and mess up my car.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I can post a pic of the area in question if needed.

I think cover, as the firewall is the structure.

Yeah i just thought that the welding was a bit heavy for it to just be a cover that was all. Seemed to be quite hefty and i want to make sure that i don't run into liability issues with my insurance.

Probably just a well engineered cover to suit the rest of the car

Well the newest update is that i'm likely going to be fitting a Mercedes uni-wiper to the soarer. Seems to be a better option than hacking the lovely lady up.
