| Just so everyone else that owns a Soarer in Canada be warned that the SC400 glass will not fit in a soarer without modification. The wiper motors are set up biased to the right, the SC's have them left biased. There is a downward bulge in the glass that will hit the middle wiper motor and WILL NOT FIT! I'm considering a few things right now to correct this. 1.) Get the glass cut to fit around the wiper motor. (Added cost every time you have to replace the windshield and doesn't really correct the problem. 2.) Move the middle wiper motor left two inches and buy a smaller wiper blade for that wiper arm. 3.) Convert the wiper motor braces and brackets to the SC400 ones and re-install on the opposite side. 4.) Remove the middle wiper completely temporarily just so i can use my car again. Don't just have the glass removed hoping that the SC glass will fit and don't leave it to the glass company to check since you can't count on them test fitting before removing the old glass. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!!!!!!!! |

| Also a plea to the soarer- minded mechanics out there. I am thinking about fitting the USDM SC400 wiper motor assembly instead but there is a piece of sheet metal over on the passenger side of the car right where i would need to install (mirror of the soarer) Are there any consequences to cutting this out to make way for the new wiper linkage? |

| What about getting some Soarer glass? Might be a business opportunity for you. We can get them supplied and fitted for under AU$250, so they have to be coming cheap from somewhere. |

| But getting them here to Canada is near impossible. Toyota Canada does NOT like the imported cars and go out of their way to be difficult. |

| Scott, don't know whether this will be off assistance, but here are ALL the possible part number variations for 30 Series Soarers. If you post up your chassis number, I can give you the EXACT part number to order for your car.

| An after market windscreen supplier SHOULD be able to get the Soarer ones. If you go see one and ask them can they contact there suppliers. Forget going to Toyota or Lexus.. What about that Import man in Canada ? he was on SC not long ago, be good opertunaty for him to import some screens. |

| Don, Chassis number is JZZ30-000555. I've done a lot of checking around. I took a test piece of glass to a Water Jet Cutter and he sliced a chunk off with no difficulty so slicing the bulge off of the windshield may be an option. I have bought the sc400 wiper motor assembly off ebay if that's what I have to do. I will give these part numbers a try as well. I have a mechanic friend that will help me make bracketing to hold the USDM wiper motor assembly. Which might be a good idea to do to take care of this problem permanently. Aftermarket support isn't as great here as it is over there. Maybe it will get there eventually but right now there is definately a lack. Not being able to drive my car is killing me. I'm tempted to just remove the whole wiper assembly and install the windshield just to get the car back. |

Sorry Scott, you're missing a digit. After the JZZ30 bit there will be 7 numbers not 6. However, I added a 4th. "5" to the number, and it comes up as a June 1991 GTTL in Pearl (code 051) which fits the description of your Soarer. If that is the case, the part number for your windshield is: 56111 - 24100 with an alternative part number of: 56111 - 24101 (Laminated, Tinted Gray, 4.7mm thick)

| Thanks Baggs, Wireless keyboard missed the last 5. It's looking more and more like i'm going to change the wiper motor assembly to the wiper motor assembly from the SC400. Which will require a lot of beer and a big swear jar and some mig welding. The problem with aftermarket is that there is no one that has started on the JDM cars. The need for support was at least identified at whatever convention it is that the windshield suppliers all go to. However no one has moved to fill that gap as of yet. |

| So far the only problem i can see with putting in the SC400 wiper assembly aside from the different wipe pattern is that the heater intake is most likely under the plate on the passenger side of the car that would need to be cut off to fit the wiper assembly. Might have to put mesh over that. And welding up new brackets will be tricky with the different angles. I should be able to cut off and reweld the two centermost braces but the section on the edge will be tricky. Anyways on with the drama. oh and just to brag i just got a free Torsen diff complete in housing for FREE!!
