My V8 has the thing where after 20kmh the doors lock and when they lock they are sounding a bit rough, what sort of maintenance can I do to the locks to keep them in good nick?? I was thinking some crc or something similar. I also have a problem where often when I pull the key out the steering wheel doesnt go back in and the door beeps when I open it etc... will a bit of crc down the barrel maybe fix that?

In the "Old" days, they used powdered graphite in a "Puffer" to blow into the locks, which made them smooth.

I HAVE used CRC with great improvement, on locks and linkages.

It might be better to use something like Inox with the teflon in it Don as crc can be a bit of a degreaser and strip oil etc away sometimes. but if it work, it works.

Yeah Perry, you're probably right since I've been known to use CRC 5/56 for cleaning my hands after doing grungy jobbies on the car.

It's good for a "Quick-fix", but some teflony type stuff would be a more permanent solution.
