Hi, I have recently purchase a 1991 V8. While driving generally after taking foot of the accelerator the car cuts out even when moving. Engine light appears etc and it requires restarting.
It has a unichip, extractors, modified tran chip (holds second longer).
Has anyone else had this issue or know what may be causing it?
Not sure if this is related but while accelerating consistently the revs sometimes drop by 100rpm for a second.
Does anyone know a good place around melbourne that i can take it for a service. Don't want to get ripped off but at the same time i want someone who knows about soarers and possibly uni chips.

Sounds like a fuel problem..possibly the start of the fuel pump ecu on its way out..there is a test you can do by opening the diagnostics port in the engine bay and getting a paper clip and putting one end of the paper clip in +B and the other end in FP...that will by pass the fuel pump ecu and if problem goes after a couple of days you know you need a new fuel pump ECU think there worth $270 brand new...but it is defientley recommended not to bypass the fuel pump ecu no more than a couple days.
also Sports a Luxury cars are our sponsors and there located somewhere in melbourne might be worth taking it to there...i here they know there Soarers real well.

doug or albert from S&L made me a deal last time where they replaced mine and said that if it wasn't the problem they'd refund me for the part and put my old one back in and keep on troubleshooting it. They're top blokes.
