earlier this week the ignitino seemed a bit tricky when putting the key in, i didnt think much of it as its always a bit fiddly. i lubed it bit and it got worse. today i trecked out to a wrecker to buy a new one to swap over. they didnt have one in good condition so i hopped in the car to go to a different wrecker, but i couldnt start the thing, I tried 2 keys, one wouldnt go in at all and the other goes in but wont turn. I have left the car there and it will be towed in the morning to a mechanic to get fixed.
Anyone had similar failure of the ignition? shal i get them to change it or can i do it myslef? apparently it mus tb ein the ACC position to release the barrell, but i cant get it there.
I am also worried that they will mess up my alarm, remote start.
on a better note, Phillip Island is a bit closer now as i picked up a cheap set of TT brakes and discs! better dust off that G string Juzza

Ive seen the ignition barrel pulled out in less than 2minutes honestly very easy...but u do need to have the ignition into ACC...so i dunno how ur gonna get it out if u cant turn it to ACC.
you can have your current one repaired at a locksmith. No need to go changing keys and all that jazz. Mine also stuff up on a friday night while I was parked in a dark secluded carpark at about 10:00pm.
I called RACV, the bloke came and he didn't do anything.
I then called for a tow truck. He came and said "oh, this happens with stolen cars I pick up all the time". He got some WD 40, sprayed the ignition barrel with heaps of it, then he turned the key really hard and moving it up and down very slightly. 30seconds latter, the key moved and the car fired up.
