well my car is blowing smoke... alot of it

at first i thought it was the turbos... theres nothing in the pipes

there are 2 choices:

1. the valve stem seals, or
2. somthing around the piston

A compression test has come up fine, but i have found metal shaving in the oil

any comments?

best you take it to a mechanic and get it diagnosed properly. its hard to diagnose things like this unfortunately.

btw just because there is no oil in the pipes doesnt mean its not the turbos.

If the Oil seal is gone in the turbos, you wont get any oil in the intake pips, but it will pile up and just burn nicely in the exhaust badly...

Dont rule out turbos completely.

Kim,
Is the smoke when accelerating? or on Idle? or after accelerating?
If its on idle I would say its the turbo's they usually go on the 120000km mark, most likely its the turbos.
