hi all i'm looking at buying a 1994-96 toyota soarer i'm just wondering if any one had any ideas on cost and ease of converting a v8 soarer to the twin turbo main reason for wanting to do this is to get the luxury interior of v8 with performance of twin turbo any info at all would be great thanks

Hello Ryan, have you tried searching for things like "V8 twin turbo" or "V8 turbocharged" yet? You will probably find that useful to get some basic information.

I think he means buy a uzz soarer for luxury and then convert it to 1jz for performance rather than turboing the uz. Best of both worlds, great idea. The ultimate soarer. Is this correct Ryan?

Probably better/easier to get a 97+ 2jzge N/A and rebuilding the engine decompressed with new pistons and a single turbo (at least you will know it will be new) or swapping it out with a 2jzgte that's if a 97+ is luxury enough???

It has been done before Ryan. There was a UZZ with a widebody kit on here a while ago which had a 1J conversion in it. Was for sale, I think some bloke in Perth eventually bought it. May want to track him down, he may have some info for you???

Ryan, ring Tony of Adrenalin on 07 55912444. He's doing a turbo conversion on a UZZ now. As David suggested above, there is also info in this forum to guide you.
Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a TT, and chuck in some leather seats, woodgrain if it's missing, and all the other luxo crap (with the exception of the air suspension). From what I';ve read in the past, it would be hell hard to intergrate the EMV with the 1J for example, but it will cost you less hassle swapping seats and the cosmetic stuff, rather than stuffing around with engines, electronics etc...
