Hi all, noticed that when my wife drives off in the morning there is a bit of smoke as she reverses out of the driveway and burns off down the road without warming up.
Once warm, there is no smoke, so i am thinking valve stem seals. 1. am i right? if so what would it cost to replace stem seals? 2. If i am not right, what could it be and how much should i looking at spending for a replacement v8.?

thanks guys. definitely smoke. the oil i use is shell synthetic 5-40. next oil change might use castrol racing synthetic 10-30 and see what happens - shell might be a bit too thin for morning starts.

Thanks for the comments i feel much better now, i was not looking forward to an engine job.
Dont remind me about her burning down the road. Every time I see it i am ready to vapourise. I mean no person in their right mind would hop into a lambo, porsche or ferrari and just hoof it without warming the engine, so why do it to a soarer

i deffinatly know whats wrong with it..... wait for it........................................
it needs 2 turbos attached to the motor, dont worry alex that is a common problem in all the v8's and yeah the only fix is to strap two turbos on them thats all....hehehe

yeah they would be the perfect excuse for your car leaving clouds of smoke, making pssh pssh noises, the underbody of your car scraping down the road, doof doof noises coming out of the boot, your baseball cap flipping backwards..
