Today I started my car and at idle it seems to be surging from around 800rpm up to about 1200rpm, Does anyone have any idea about what could be causing this problem? and how to fix it?

Did you get this fixed? I just started having the same problem.. I'm guessing it's an o2 sensor or something in the exhaust as I just had that changed...

When it happened to me a couple of years ago it was the alternator which was about to die. If you have a leaky power steering punp (as a lot V8's do) it'll be dripping onto the alternator.

I have a leaking boot on the power steering rack ..

But the mechanic today said it was a sensor on the front that air and cooling fluid goes through, he's trying to track one down for me..

Awesome, I might give this a go tomorrow. Now I just have to get the solanoid for the gearbox replaced. Waiting on Tuff Toys to find the parts (about 3 weeks now)

Mine stopped surging for around 2 weeks then the last two or so days it's been doing it constant. It sucks when driving for a while as you have to have it nuteral while braking and with an exhaust everyone looks at you asif you're revving it. If I leave it in drive it's asif I'm trying to accelerate and brake at the same time and the brakes overheat... doh
