I had the familiar cracked top radiator tank on my jzz30. He said he could fix it for $280, when he got here he didn't even have the parts and took the radiator away with him. he then called me and told me he couldn't get the parts, but he had a whole radiator he would sell me for $1000. I offered to pay for the callout to get my radiator back and he told me he wouldn't give it back. I have contacted DOCEP and they said he has other complaints against him. He abused me calling me a scumbag. He told me I shouldn't have bought a piece of sh*t car if I couldnt afford to get it fixed. (he has a VE ss ute btw)

He called me every name under the sun and tried to blackmail me, and this is only half the story.
I am furious, he is trying to get me to pay $180 callout and $77 to have the radiator couriered back to me unfixed!!!

DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE IF YOU ARE IN PERTH!!!!!!!

btw: looking for radiator or top tank for jzz30 MANUAL. Does anyone know if the auto radiator will fit the manual, I know there is additional piping for the auto or something for transmission?

Sounds a bit crazy, i know when my radiator went about 6 months ago, my mechanic could get me a toyota one for 800 or an copy (koyo maybe? cant remember) for 750, which i grabbed. Seems like he was offering you a new radiator for 1000 to get a bit of cash pocketed for his "great service".

I bought one from Leo's radiators Osborne park Brand new for $550 just before Christmas Don't pay him a cent. It will be cheaper to get a S/H one from the wreckers

That is just insane. I would call the police, and report the item stolen. You have requested it back, and offered to pay the call out fee. He is unable to fix it and there for should return it to you.

It's the bottom tank that has extra pipes for the auto gearbox, so the top tanks may be the same. New top tanks can be had for approx $150.

cheers guys. I have the radiator back now. A little fin damage but nothing major that I can see. I am going to be taking him to the small claims court. Thanks peter, I asked at Toyota and they have 3 top tanks available in Melbourne. They are $252 + $85 for the O-ring. I will see what I can do here in perth first though.
thanks guys.
I will also post some pics up of my soarer when the radiator is all fixed up.

Steven, imported top tanks are cheaper than Toyota ones. Probably from China, but seem to be OK. Check with radiator shops.
