So I bought a Soarer yesterday and everything seemed fine (I drove it for around 60k's yesterday) and when I got in the car this morning and started it it took a little bit of effort to get it to start (I had to tap the accelerator) and it is displaying a code in japaneese which (according to my translation card) means "Engine system fault"..
What should I do? What could it be? I noticed it was a little low on oil yesterday after buying it, could it just be that the oil is low? (about 1/3rd up the dipstick reading section instead of all the way)

Do a full oil and filter change for a start mate. Who'd the car belong to before? Another member, car yard or just some Joe Public? Any service history? Did you have the car checked out before you bought it? The error could be caused by air/fuel. Maybe air fuel mixture. I doubt that oil would give an 'engine system fault'. Having said all that, I'm still learning too so I'm probably miles off. It's just a possibility. A good service with a new air filter, fuel filter and the usual stuff might fix everything.

Yeah, I'm going to get a full service done on it as soon as I can book it in somewhere, I was thinking about doing it myself but I think I might get a mechanic to do it and have a closer look at stuff..
I had a mate (mechanic) check it over quickly before purchase.. He didn't have a hoist available though and he didn't look into it too much..
The car was only 8K so I wasn't expecting it to be perfect..

If I think back to my "Engine System Fault" a few months ago...
I'm pretty sure error code 15 came up, It ended up being the cam position sensor at the rear of the head. Then after that, error 41 came up shortly, but cleared itself. Try an ECU reset and see what happens mate.
