The fluid level may have dropped so air got into the pump, and you know what milkshakes look like.

The air bubbles also make the pump noisy.

The tutorial is actually to flush the P/S.

Bleeding it is usually a matter of topping the level up and getting the air out.

Jack the front end up so the tyres are off the ground, then with the engine running, turn the steering wheel lock to lock a few times and the air should start to work itself out.

The frothing can make it difficult to keep the level accurate, and you need to keep an eye on it in case it drops and sucks more air in.

There may be another reason why the air is in the fluid in the first place, but this is an easy and cheap way to start investigating the problem.
