Yes. Somewhere around 6200 (6300?) RPM.

A stock V8, particularly with stock intake, is breathless by that time anyway.

cool. thanks for that. just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. did the BFI and now it hits the limiter. use to run out of puff just before 6,000 before that.

Removing it requires a replacement main ECU, or a Lemmens one of which not many were produced.

Yes, ultimately you can blow it with sufficient RPM but the 1UZ can handle a lot more than 6200. It is more of a "stupid drivers don't know that it is pointless to over-rev and also, controlling the limit reduces warranty risk".
