Sorry I can't contain myself!

Well, sounds like the seals are buggered.

Rebuilt the pump, flush the system, and praying your steering rack is not stuffed.

Hmmm well he says it's leaking now so who knows what has happened internally.

Yes there are rubber bits in a brake system but you do have to remember that those parts are supposed to come into contact with brake fluid.

I wouldn't trust brake fluid on anything that isn't metal.

Brake fluid will usually expand rubber seals, a trick that I used on a previous car was a cap-full of brake fluid into the oil filler, and it stopped the leaks in the engine long enough to rid myself of the car (done worry people, this was for a Nissan CA-powered 180sx, not a car anyone would expect better of).

Depends on the type of gasket used on the power steering system, but first thing's first, flush the guts out of it, monitor what is coming out along with the PS/Brake fluid (such as bits of paper gasket or similar).

Make sure the system is COMPLETELY flushed, and then address the leaks.

If it's heavy, and if it's got any sort of noise, it's got air bubbles in the system, changes are the bubbles are from a damaged PS seal that has allowed air to be sucked into the system.
