This oil cooler/filter relocation kit will be the death of me. There is a tiny but persistent leak coming from one of the hose joins. I have tried tightening it but it hasn't worked. I should add they are all -10 (dash 10) fittings. Is there a specific thread sealant tape I can use on these fittings? I assume the flimsy white "plumbers Tape" is a no go due to the need to seal against hot oil.
I am running out of time as I hit the track next Sunday, and work weekdays.

Mate you would be surprised what teflon tape can handle, but if you want to be safe there is always the option of a thread sealant such as a loctite product. But make sure its high temp and a thread locker and not stud locker or you will never undo it again. best of luck Matt

Yeah a high temp but low force locktite will help, from memory i bought some American brand stuff which was purple. used it on the oil filter sandwich plate and havent had a problem.

OK
So I removed the hose, cleaned up the connector, applied PTFE tape to seal the last two threads and reconnected it.
Wallah! The oil leak is fixed, but, both my oil pressure and oil temp gauge are reading zero again???
There is no conceivable way for the tape to get through the threads and into the oil system to block something. The oil cooler is hot, the filter is hot, and if I loosen the temp sender unit, oil begins to seep out of the threads. There has to be oil flow right?
It has got to be some weird gauge problem, but it can't be electric as they are two different senders, and all four gauges share the same earth. (the other two work fine, and all four lights still function)
