i remember seeing somewhere on the internet that someone put in a new 2.4L vvti engine from a camry into a soarer! Along with the new 5 speed camry tran! Is that possible!!!

Trans is the same, at least the 3.0 V6 camry has the same auto trans as the V8 soarer.
As to the engine, custom mounts custom exhaust not all that different to any other engine swap and it will fit in the hole, the finner details (intake wiring ect) might not be worth the effort.
I'm sure there are better choices to start with for an engine swap.

I wouldn't complain if my soarer went like an aurion! Mid 6's 0-100km/h and mid 14's on the 1/4 about a second faster than my V8 in both cases. Yet it uses 5L/100km less fuel.

I don't know the exact details but the V6 Camry auto is the same as the V8 which is a A341e not the A340 and the A341E is a 1000 times better auto.
A341E Applications:
1990-2000 Toyota Chaser/Mark II/Cresta 2.5 GT/Tourer V (1JZ-GTE) 1991-1997 Toyota Soarer 4.0L V8 1993-1995 Lexus GS300 3.0L 1990-1994 Lexus LS400 4.0L V8 1990-1995 Toyota Crown Majesta 4.0L V8 1992-1998 Volvo 2.9L I6 (AW30-40LE)
Andrew is the right the new Aurion is awesome performance wise out of the box. But install the new 200killer wasps engine into a soarer and it will be not be as quick.
RWD drive line consumes more power, soarer is also heavier don't get me wrong a fantastic engine but the results wouldn't be as great in a soarer.

As Ali said, the engine was designed for a FWD drive car so it would seem unlikely that the swap has been done. And and FWD trans in a RWD car?
Can do anything. I just posted in general about my engine which came from a feroza (all wheel drive, North south mounted) and put into a charade (east west mounted). Required change in mounts and gearbox. Of course a FWD gearbox works completely different to a RWD. you have two places where the driveshafts come from on the FWD, and only one for RWD. You have 3 points for the AWD (one for left and right, one for back to the rear diff).
In other news, a 1.6L 4AG (custom turbo'd) engine will be going into that feroza with a custom bellhousing and slight extensions to the existing mounts. Before you ask - yes its already engineer approved and will be plated before driven on roads

I find that it's somewhat of a shame the more recent Carmy's / Aurions retained the FWD layout.
Yes it's cheaper, lighter and may be better on gas, but it will never compare to a RWD setup from the performance, control and the actual image of the car. Those 3.5 V6 Aurions are powerful things so on a curly bend if your pushing it, well.. it's not going to be that fun.
Obviously, you can't take it out on the track unless you enjoy understeer around the bends..
But I'm being obtuse, perhaps some of these newer FWD saloons are better than one would normally expect.
Though for me I'd stay with a RWD any day of the week. It's the proven setup.
