Unfortunately I found the quality to be extremely poor, the finish was shoddy to say the least and they let in lots of moisture! I decided to stick with the stockies, i like the originals better than the 94s or 96s anyway!
Simon - do you need the paper part of the driving licence or will the card do?
If anyone has anymore qtr mile tips much appreciated!

Hi Mark - funny you should mention that - just did our first ever visit to Santa Pod - the UK's best drag strip, for proper timed runs of my n/a V8 versus Al's supercharged one on its first real outing. The full story is here on the UK's TIF site, and below are the figures I posted - fairly respectable for a luxo barge !
Run 2 60ft = 2.38sec 330ft = 6.58sec 1/8 = 9.95sec @ 73.9mph 1k ft = 12.78sec 1/4 = 15.5sec @ 78.8mph [lifted off towards end - doh !]
Run 3 60ft = 2.41sec 330ft = 6.64sec 1/8 = 10.02sec @ 73.5mph 1k ft = 12.87sec 1/4 = 15.41sec @ 90.9mph - my best terminal figures despite the slowest 60ft and 330ft times
Mods = SSS induction nozzle, TRD air filter, Rush headers, Unichip, decatted. [rest of exhaust original; running on a half tank of fuel]

Thread now updated with my times, and some more pics. In summary, a 14.7, not bad for a newbie I guess, car was slipping all over the place. Be interested in peoples thoughts on the times of the runs and any tips!
I would guess you need to increase grip and soften the rear end suspension, have it on full height to allow suspension travel.
Once you have that sorted you can have higher engine revs at the lights = better 60ft time... that is where the SC will shine for you, the 60 and 330 ft marks. After that it just becomes a normal car. See how it's running out of puff towards the end, look at the MPH differences between yours and mine at the 660ft mark, but not much at the end.

Jeff my last run was on suspension on high, I pulled a 14.7 but wheelspan from the line.
I tried higher revs from the start on the second run. The result was I wheelspan for about 100ft before i had to lift off, and ended up with a 20.9!
Next time i'm going to try launching in 2nd see what that does, otherwise its going to have to be a gentler start then squeeze the throttle after about 30ft or so perhaps.
Neil, i'd be interested in you experiences in good launch techniques!

Why not do some test launches on a bit of road somewhere safe? You don't need to go fast, just get the launch sorted out then back off as you hit the speed limit.

Yeah mine bounces of the rev limiter too, just at the point where 2nd (i think) gets maxxed out and the box is too lazy to change to 3rd! If you download the second video which is now on TIF, hosted by Joe, you can hear the 2 or 3 bounces...
I could probably go for 275 on the back rather than the 265 I have, the rubber does seem a bit stretched. And i'll probably take higher profile next time, and let out some pressure (was running it at 32 psi which is pretty hard for racing!)
Will see if I can get hold of an LSD, judging on past ALSC threads, its much better to have a TT LSD than a TRD one?
Let me know what you think of the latest vid on TIF, that one was me third with the 14.7. See if you can tell the bounce and the wheelspin right on the start line?

Burning oil problem ;-(
Posting this message on behalf of Alastair, as his home internet is down.
Can anyone advise on his engine problem please ? His blown V8 suddenly started using oil fast, and Al discovered that it's been spraying out of the rear of the engine due to some plastic bung/breather falling out.
That would explain loads of blue smoke being made when the sprayed oil hit the manifolds - but Al's also seen blue smoke coming out of the exhaust pipes...
Could this be a side effect - or has the oil loss done something nasty to the engine's innards?
