hey guys,

I need some advice!

Does anybody have ideas on how to remove this O2 sensor? I tried twisting it with a vicegrip and it didn't budge.

Probably quicker to weld a new bung in and leave it in place.

Soak it in TONS of penetrating fluid. Also try a bit of heat on it.

Worst case cut it off flush and drill it out.

Matt.

Start the car up for a minute or so and then spray some wd40 on it, it should soak in better with a bit of heat. Not too hot though as it will just evaporate.

if Robs suggestion does not work.

do as Rob said and start the car for a minute or so and freeze spray the o2 sensor while using a spanner to try and crack the thread.

in the mean time line up a new o2 sensor and tap and die set to re-thread the bung.

might sound stupid. but can you get a better quality pic looks like they have welded the actual sensor to the exhaust i doesnt look right.
but you can also buy a socket specially made for them that has cutout for the wires they are awesome get heaps of leverage on them and spray it with wd or rost-off ice

Was about to say it looks like it's been welded on. It's a bit blurry so I cannot tell for sure.

It is welded on just below that square bit, is that part of the whole O2 sensor setup? I tried a vicegrip on and it just kept turning and didn't come out!
