Hey guys. I recently bought penrite long life pink coolant. Now I'm not so sure if I should use it or try sell it and get the toyota stuff. I intend to flush the radiator but still some is going to get mixed with whatever is in the block. Would this lead to any problems? Is this stuff ok to use or should I.just flog it off and get the toyota stuff?

Drain the block as well. Little taps on the side of the block. (hard to see but they're there)

Once this is done, flush the block with fresh water with the taps still open.

Then close tapes and rad and fill with the coolant. Penrite stuff should be fine.

So where abouts are the taps exactly? Does anyone have pics?

i to would like to know the locations of these "taps"

there's a write up on here if you search for how to flush your coolant (could even be in the oddly named "how to" section on the main page) but it involves bleeding out the coolant and flushing via the heater hose. helps to get all the old coolant out of the heating system as well

There's definately a write up on here with photo's of their locations because I did the write up.

Try the search button because I CBF'd finding it for you. It may even be in the tutorial section.

(BTW I could have found it in the time it takes me to type this, I don't know why everyone is so scared of the search button)

I done a search also, came up with a few threads on flushing but couldn't find your one either Dan....

could you post up a link to your thread? I wouldn't mind knowing the location of those taps on the block you mentioned as Im going to do a coolant flush on mine very soon!

Yep I've seen that one. Its a good write up but it doesn't say anything about the taps on the engine block. Can anyone else spoon feed me?
