Hey guys, im planning on buying a V8 soarer, car looks good apart from the usual scratches/ minor dints which are to be expected. however the owner has pointed out an error message coming up on the dash. was wondering if any of you guys had anything similar pop up on yours?

if you plan on inspecting the car again, or even ask the owner to put it in diagnostic mode so you can get a more exact idea on what error is being thrown
does it happen as soon as the car turns on or only if the brake pedal is pressed?

Thanks for the feedback guys.
The error code is on from the time the car is started and stays on through out. Test drove it and the brakes seem fine, could it be an ABS issue? or even a stored error message on the ecu that needs to be cleared?

Hey Tom, the car does have traction control, worst case how much would it set me back to replace the nitrogen accumulator?.. my 92 TT with no TEMS, trac, airbags or any other extra bits was so much less trouble.. still running flawlessly to this day

Welcome! - Its the nitrogen accumulator! - Search on here for Peter Taplin - He has a shop now in ferntree gullly.
He did my accumulator about 3 years ago - best cash i ever spent. The accume sensors get funny and it is isn't the accumulator he won;t take your money. He will provide you with a new bit of hardware and life time gassing. He is a man of few words but honest and knowledgeable.
As for your TT comment... ask to see Peters super charged V8.

Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback. you were on the money! it was the nitrogen accumulator. The seller replaced this and the error is gone. and even more importantly the car is finally home, it's an excellent condition 96 UZZ31 - and will stay that way, will post up some pics soon. over the years this forum and its members have been amazing! glad to see that there are still so many people who understand & appreciate the true value of these cars.
