P'raps this ought to be posted in the "How To" section?
I can't take the credit for this, but a massive tip of the cap to the gent who came up with the idea of using split pins to repair the window regulator.
I spent HOURS in the shed yesterday farting about with Q-Bond and a bunch of little clamps, when I could have saved my time and money and gone for this option. I'm fixing my L/H regulator today, and I'm definitely going to use this method.

Interesting fix, but i'm not sure why you would butcher the rail and other bits when you can get a brand new one to your door for about $90 through http://www.amayama.com
