haha allan, the government is trying to screw over the second hand car market, they all want us driving hyundia i30's or some new euro turd. They are turning up the heat on requirements for roadworthy cars and the mechanics are getting real tough on whats roadworthy and whats not.

Depends where in Vic you are but you could try New Belgrave Motors in Belgrave. I did my roadworthy there about 6 months ago and they were really good about it, especially since I was transferring the car in to my name rather than selling it. If you tell them in advance that you'll wait, they will do it on the spot while you have a coffee across the road. I've used them since to do some repairs on the car, and they are not afraid of imports (there is a young-ish guy there that drives a skyline and is quite happy to work with Soarers).

move to nsw. everythings good up here.
i've found the best time to get a more "lenient" road worthy is turning up about 15mins before knock off/close time and just ask for an on the spot pink slip, you'll either get told can't do it, or it'll pass no worries
