My 91 Soarer has this issue that it runs fine all month then out of the blue the next day it starts running choppy then it shuts off and doesn't want to start again.. then I take out my spark plugs and they are fouled with carbon, so I clean them well and put them back in and its starts like nothing happened?? I am getting confused because there is nothing wrong with the engine no leaks, synthetic oil, brand new diamond E3 plugs, new coil pack's, new fuel filter.. this had happened twice now.. the only thing I can think of is the last time it didn't want to start I noticed inside the cars dual exhaust had been stuffed with tons of steel wool and I pulled most of it out but maybe that's what is causing carbon problem on the plugs?? I don't know how long its been in there for but I am going to take the exhaust off this weekend and use some gas treatment and then run it for a few hours then check a plug and see if there's more carbon building up again.. any suggestions????

Steel wool like material is used in mufflers & probably means one of your mufflers has blown out.

As for starting issues , sounds like Fuel Pump Ecu issue . Search for more details on that one .
