Hi there another problem has developed... getting a loud knocking sound from the rear hard to pinpoint which side but sounds like the left, but the right also has a sound but not the knocking more metal hitting metal, might just be the dirt protector thing sits behind rotor.

anyway the sound is constant with the rate of speed slower i go slower it knocks, go faster knocks faster. so far i have:

tapped on some parts with a mallet cant hear anything loose

bounced the four corners of the car to see if it was suspension but couldn't hear anything loose

tried moving the wheels around when jacked up but they seem pretty solid

could loose brake pads make a loud enough knocking sound, i just used the pads that came with the rotors, so im not sure if there good or bad, but the shims have all fallen off them ...

if you had a similar problem can u let me know as i dont think the mechanic is open until next week.

thanks for offer but you are far away from where i am.

drove the car for a while today with no knocking however there is noise coming from the rear. i jacked the rear left up and spun the wheel it gets caught up at one point then moves easily again.

that's ok looking at your video one thing would be to count the knocks for one turn of the wheel and if 5 or 6 i'd be looking at the cv's on the half shafts one way to tell is to jack the car up like in the video but use a second jack under the the suspension to load it up so the half shaft is parallel and see if noise is gone or quieter if so cv's

ok will try that, have driven the car around and no knocking but still sounds like something scraping or catching from the rear left, or im just paranoid about any noise i hear.. currently have an old rotor on the rear left to see if makes a difference.

Tricky one to diagnose & its a very slow noise & maybe slower than wheel speed by the looks of it too ?( going by outside movement ) if it is the diff, just throw a second hand one in it, you can pick up a single spinner Non LSD for about $150 ..
