Hello again folks,
As some of you know I picked up a very cheap UZZ32 which had been thoroughly neglected by its previous owner. Fortunately he only owned it for 4 months before heading home to China.
Anyway, its in pretty rough shape but generally OK. One thing I'd like to investigate is a "squealing" noise which sounds like a slipping belt (not sure if this would likely be cam or serpentine or fan). Here are the symptoms - can anyone diagnose?
- slight squealing at idle - squeals when steering wheel turned at idle - disappears under load

I have a squeak also that has been driving me crazy. I have replaced the idler arm and belt tensioner bearings and the serpentine belt(thanks Lew) but have been told by someone else that it may be the drive belt tensioner assembly and cost about $465 to repair. No one else seems to hear this squeak but being my car it really .... me off!
