Ask for Gavin who is the service manager or Chris the Senior Technician. They are Soarer friendly and even sponsor a Soarer drag racer. Not inexpensive (serious understatement) but worth considering for jobs like V8 Shims and Buckets where having the tools, parts and experience makes a big difference. For the extra freight you get a loan car, usually an IS200 and exactly what you ask for with friendly and knowledgeable people. They do an excellent job but I would also consider Phil's mechanical and some of the other recommended workshops for less specialised work without the requirement for oxygen when sighting the bill.

Yes heard some bad stories about Precise, Callum says DCI no longer uses them?
True, last i heard Regan gets Joe Batarseh (Automotive Mobile Master) to do mechanical work
Joe has done all my work to date; Replaced transmission Rebuilt power steering* Repaired radiator top tank* Servicing Rebuilt aircon compressor* Replaced aircon condensor Installed shift kit
(Items with a * were jobs where he outsourced the actual part repair to other people)
In my opinion i cant hope for more from this guy; he works to a very high standard, knows Soarers inside and out, great guy to deal with and his prices are very competitive (at least i havent found better for the level of service he provides). Whenever i require parts for repair jobs he always manages to find cost effective bits and pieces at very respectable prices.

Hey guys,
I'm currently in the market for a 91/92 Limited. I'm about to start inspecting some cars but before I do I was thinking I should ask you guys who to take a soarer to to be inspected before purchase. Someone who knows Soarers not a stupid RACV guy who has no clue.

Jo from Mobile Master did a stirling job of removing my Active PS/Suspension pump so I could send to Sports and Luxury Cars for the rebuild, they were also a professional service.

No frills service In the GOld Coast; Adrenalin 38 Commercial Drive, Southport 07 5591 2444 Mobile 0411885018 Soarer importer/mechanic for many years. I've been going to this mechanic since 2001 as the importer I bought my car from is now out of business. Adrenalins pricing maybe 5% more than a non-Soarer enthusiast mechanic but the overall value and satisfaction of work done to our Soarers is 100%.

re nsw
+++bad = N.G. Jap spares at Riverwood nsw. They will sell you incorrect and broken parts. Recently they have set up a workshop and will pretend to do work on your car. On close inspection it can be found that they actually do not perform any work. On the plus side the parts can be relatively cheap and they do readily refund money if they sell damaged parts/wrong parts (although they prefer to send you packing with some other incorrect parts if they can).
++bad = Universal Automotive transmission at liverpool nsw. They do not perform work as promised and will damage other parts while performing work. They will not refund money or correct problems.
Good= midas at liverpool. Despite that they know nothing specific about soarers they will take the time to ring around and find out. Then they will fix your car through a logical method of deduction. Geoff the proprietor is a genuinely nice guy who is very accommodating and flexible. Very reasonable prices but best used for general fixes - not worth an out of the way trip for something difficult to diagnose.

If you require tyres in Central Vic, Bendigo Bob Jane T-Marts are the go. Plenty of good tyres in stock for all rim sizes, good prices and wheel alignment to spec.
Only negative - dude who wrote out my receipt spelled it "Soaror". Thank your proverbials he wasn't one of the techs.

I'd like to put in a plug for Rick Iwanaka - has a workshop at Unit 6/11-13 Rhodes Street, West Ryde NSW - mob 0425 246 424.
He fixed the air/con unit on our 1995 Soarer SC400 after several so called experts failed. He actually located and replaced faulty electronic components on the circuit board and got it back working perfectly.
He's been working on Soarers for yonks and has all the appropriate diagnostic equipment and manuals.
In my opinion he's the type of mechanic whose not afraid to cross boundaries and his costs are reasonable.

I used Rick for a few years whilst I was living closer to his workshop (2000 - 2003). Very good mechanic & knows Soarers inside out. I'm glad to see he's still in business & would highly recommend him as well.
More recently I've been using Jason from Bathus & Borg in Botany. Same deal, knows his stuff & a good bloke to boot. I take both the Celsior & the Soarer to him. Good for all mods & is responsible for the long list of mods on both my cars.
