Just to let anyone with a TT know, Gary at Salisbury Toyota recommended the part number 12204-88402 for the PCV which apparently supercedes the original 12204-88400 or 12204-88401. I searched using the part number 12204-88402 and nothing came up on the forum. From the picture you can see they look a little different with the orginal on the left and the new one on the right.

New one looks like the one on later model 2.2L camry's.

V8 has two part numbers as well. Both look the same. They might work on differnet pressures.

The only problem I can see with using the new PCV valve is hose fitment. The diametres are all the same, however, the old PCV valve is L shaped and the hose to which it connects to is contoured in such a way that it may be difficult to get it to fit onto the new valve especially given that the hose is old which may enduce some cracking if it is placed in an different position. Is there anyone out there who had used the new valve and fitted the hose on there without a problem?

Just get a new piece of flexible hose. Keep it as short as possible so as not to put a kink in it and restrict air flow.

I think it releases any crank case oil vapour pressure so you don't get any oil seeping out through the engine drive shaft seal.
