ok my mate got his tt a while ago and every now and then when the fuel drops under 15L the car starts to cut out...not like boost or speed cut but like as if u accelerate then brake then accelerate then brake and so on...it feels really hard....mainly 1st and 2nd....the car has just been converted to a manual and the problem is still there....wot could it be?....dirty fuel tank maybe?

Change the fuel filter first. Nothing about the manual conversion should affect it.

Maybe its at the bottom of the fuel tank that comes close to the fuel pump when its low on fuel?

If the fuel pump is having a hard time keeping pressure high enough, maybe this is sensed and the fuel system turned off or something.. sounds logical?
