Just changed my oil and filter after 5000km. I noticed very small copper and brass coloured metal fragments in the oil. The filter was a Ryco Z418, oil was Caltex Semisynthetic 10W40.

Has anyone else noticed this when changing their oil?

Sounds bad, you could try checking the plugs.

I know in drag cars that particles usually means bearings, big end, little end or main. Hope that isn't the case.

Next oil change... don't look!

Keep driving, change the oil and filter every 5000k and never look again.
