My V8 limited seems a little slow to come back to around 600rpm idle. Sometimes it wants to hover around 800-1000rpm for maybe 10-12 seconds which is more annoying than anything.
Is this pretty normal?

Mine does that too - I thought it was normal.

That's almost reassuring Damien. If one other person says the same I'll call it 100% normal.

Depends on aircon settings. If compressor is running then it revs more.

My guess is that it's temperature related. You drive in winter, it cools a tad, so when you pull up at the lights, is keeps the revs up a little before settling down again.

Doesn't seem to be as noticeable in summer.

Mines all over the shop.

Sometimes its 1300, sometimes its 700, sometimes it drops to 450 and feels like its going to stall.

I plan to swap the TPS over to my spare one, see if that has any bearing on it.

The ISCV works the same as my spare one, so I presume thats not the problem.

The CSI is the other thing I haven't tested.

Our GT4.0, when cold runs at about 1100rpm, with NO A/C on.

Once at normal operating temperature it idles at 700rpm in Drive, which according to the original spec sticker on the underside of the bonnet is correct.

When driving at normal temp with A/C ON, and stopping, say, at a red light, it initially drops to a high idle of 1000rpm, them approximately 5 seconds later it will be idling at 800rpm.
But as soon as the A/C is turned off the idle drops to a steady 700rpm in drive.

I STRONGLY suspect THIS to be NORMAL.......unlike the owner!

I would expect that to be normal.

My UZZ30 idles at 590rpm in Drive when fully warm. More relaxed perhaps :-)
