It didn't in mine. I even thought about removing the kit again because the smoothness of the shifts sort of disappears. Now if only there was a switch you could install that could switch back between having a shift kit and not having a shift kit. THAT would be something.

now ur thinkin if they had something like that, i would have to get one. cant they make some thing like a 0.5 shift kit so that its not a really hard shift or is that not possible
im not to fussed about the power increase from the unichip, i just want it to get off the line a fair bit harder. but none of wat i have read have confirmed that it does.
they all say its great and its the best money they spent. but really will it take off quicker, i just need to read some one say "yes it does".

The later stage one kits ARE very smooth. Unless you stick the boot in you wouldn't know it was there. It IS possible to do a similar thing electronically by controlling the way the solenoids work. This would mean that you could turn it on and off.

The Silicon Chip/Jaycar Pulse Adjuster kit makes mention of the possibility of gearbox shift control so perhaps an option already exists. Quote : 'You can use this circuit to • Modify the action of the factory boost control valve to create a custom boost curve • Modify the action of the auto transmission pressure control valve to give better shift firmness in late model transmissions • Modify the action of the power steering control valve to give better weight on speed-controlled systems • Modify the action of the idle speed control valve to alter idle speed • Control an extra fuel injector, water injector or Toluene injector’

I remember reading an article from an old Street Commodores magazine about something similar to this. I cant recall details, but it was a electronic unit which offered the choice to adjust the line pressures in the auto..by just pressing a button it could be adjusted from 5% to 100%, obviously going from smooth to whiplash
