can anyone please explain to me the science behind cutting holes in the front of the air filter box? The tiny little inlet that the snout is attached to actually has an area(cm2) of almost double the the 70mm ID pipe that exits the back of the filter housing. I know years ago I did flow tests, and the airbox did flow more air once the hole was enlargened( we replicated that simply by opening the airbox lid), but I'm struggling to get my head around it , given the cross sectional areas.
