Exactly...
Another advantage of the US dash is an odo reading I can beieve...90,000....miles and it will only go up slowly. |

Ok...I can't make out whether this is piss taking or for real!!!
Is this sort of conversion possible?
I hate digital dashes and I have always concidered trying to do an analogue dash conversion in the Soarer!!! - Would be good to find out from someone whether this is actually possible!! |

I have an SC400 dash sitting on my Dining table. It WILL make the transition into my car......it will not be a quick transition but it will happen. Once I have it working I already have a supply of dash's arranged. They will NOT be cheap. It will almost certainly require some bits from your Soarer dash so will be an exchange thing (forget flogging off you old dash for $250  ) Cost will be $500 minimum. |

The main hassle at the present time is connectors for the US dash as they are completely different. Once I sort that out there's no problem. |

I have the dash sussed in theory. found a connector for them in the Soarer loom (lots of wrecker trawling is gunna be required).
If I ever get all the stackers, dash's, EMV and bloody TV's and other stuff off my bench it won't take too much to get it in my car.
Any techos out there wanna come give me a hand? |

An analogue dash would be awesome. I'm not a big fan of the digital dash. |

Just being able to read over 180 will be great and it is happening. The dash mounting lugs are a worry (mirror image so they don't match) but I'll get around that somehow. |

Nah. One lug can be used with a spacer but the other needs cut off. 3 mounting lugs are enough I reckon. |

Good one Ray. Only problem with that is I haven't found any and the normal US ones are cheapish and not too rare.
I know the US dash odo is in miles but the Canadian one may be kilos, not sure.
Personally I don't give a rats' about whether it is in miles or kilometers for either speedo or odo and the US dash has both on at least speedo.
The EMV trip computer can tell me distances in kilometers if necessary. I'm old enough to understand both and can use either readily. I currently switch between a Soarer and Merc with one of each. No problems. |
